Visitors to New York City don't have to look past Queens when seeking out fun outdoor recreational activity. Queens is a large borough that is home to Rockaway Beach with its miles of pristine sandy shores, Flushing Meadows-Corona Park and the Gateway National Recreation Center. Queens also has quite a few good restaurants.

Il Bambino

The owners of Il Bambino spent many years traveling through Spain and Italy before opening the doors to this Astoria restaurant in 2006. A combination Spanish tapas bar and Italian paninoteca, Il Bambino is an ideal lunch spot for visitors to Queens. Choose from panini with mortadella, fontina and artichoke, among other choices; crostini such as a goat cheese and fig spread; and a variety of salads, tapas and antipasti. The only choice left is which wine to wash it all down with.

Sanford's Restaurant is the place where denizens of Queens go to get their comfort food fix.
