Surrounded by national parks and national forests and set in the Sierra Mountains, Bishop, California is a backcountry enthusiast's paradise. Hiking, rock climbing, fishing, skiing and mountaineering are found near Bishop. Wildlife abounds and sightings of black bear, deer, fox, and eagles are frequent. RV visitors to the Bishop area have numerous campgrounds and parks to choose from.

Keough's Hot Springs

At Keough's, visitors can enjoy the natural hot spring running through the campground. Man-made concrete pools pipe the water from the spring, allowing guests to soak after a hard day hiking in Kings Canyon National Park.

Standard hook-ups includes 30-amp electric, water, sewer, cable TV and Wi-Fi. On-site amenities include a small grocery store, guest house, barbecue grills and picnic area, hot showers and a laundry room. Kids can play in the dedicated play area.

The RV park and hot springs are open year-round, and reservations are recommended during holiday weekends and the summer season. Pets are welcome.

Creekside RV Park

The Creekside RV Park, open April through October, is located on the South Fork of Bishop Creek deep inside the Sierra National Forest. Creekside offers RV hook-ups that include 30- and 50-amp electric, water, sewer and cable TV. Dogs are allowed but should be leashed while on the grounds and barking is discouraged. Showers and private toilets, barbecue and picnic areas, playground and a small guest house are on-site.

Swimming in the creek and nearby hiking, such as the six-mile Bishop Pass Trail, are among the options for outdoor recreation. There is a catch-and-release fishing pond on grounds that is stocked with trout every Friday.

Brown's Town Campgrounds

Brown's Town Campgrounds is a family owned and run campground that offers 150 grass and shaded hook-up sites that include 30- and 50-amp electric, cable TV, water and sewer. Amenities on the grounds include an arcade, horseshoe pit, hot shower room, private toilets, coin operated laundry, TV room and a kids playroom.

The area is surrounded with the Eastern Sierras and hiking, fishing and boating are within easy travel from the campground. Pets are welcome. Reservations are recommended.
