Decatur, Texas, is a suburb and part of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area. Decatur is one of the fastest-growing communities in the state. It was first established and settled by Col. Absolam Bishop who originally named the town Taylorsville after President Taylor. When the Colonel grew disillusioned with the President he renamed it Decatur. Today visitors can enjoy boutique shopping, restaurants, and access to the urban delights of Dallas. Fishing and bicycling are found in the surrounding area, which includes Plano, home of Lance Armstrong.

Lost Creek RV Park

Lost Creek RV Park is a full-service campground just outside of Decatur. All sizes of RV can be accommodated, including those with slide-outs and pull-through needs. Standard with each site are 30- and 50- amp electric, water, sewer, TV, and Wi-Fi. Guests staying at Lost Creek can enjoy the clean and manicured grounds, showers, private toilets, dump station, and coin-operated laundry. Pets are allowed. Lost Creek accepts credit cards. There are only 20 sites, so reservations are strongly suggested.

Bay Landing

Only a few minutes from Decatur, and on the banks of Bridgeport Lake, is the Bay Landing RV Park. Guests can enjoy bass fishing from the campground, and be close to Decatur and urban attractions in Dallas. Bay Landing has sites for 20-, 30-, and 50- amp electric. Water, sewer, cable TV, and Wi-Fi come with each site. On-site amenities include a basketball court, volleyball, adult room, game room, hot showers, private toilets, picnic area, hot tub, swimming pool, laundry room, and dump station. Pets are allowed. Visa and Mastercard are accepted. There are hiking trails on the resort grounds, and swimming in the lake is allowed.

Caddo Mills KOA

A short distance from Decatur is the Caddo Mills/Northeast Dallas KOA. The KOA can accommodate all sizes of RVs and motor coaches, including those with slide-outs. Hook-ups with 20-, 30-, and 50- amp electric, as well as water, sewer, cable TV, and Wi-Fi are standard. Pets are allowed but should remain on leashes while in the RV park. Caddo Mills is on 65 wooded acres.. Green grass and shady trees make the Caddo Mills KOA an oasis from urban Dallas and suburbs. Hot showers, private toilets, guest house, recreation room, playground, picnic area with barbecue grills, and ice cream socials are all amenities guests can enjoy at the campground. Credit cards are accepted. Good Sam and AAA discounts are offered to members.
