Pagosa Springs is located about 275 miles southwest of Denver on U.S. 160. This mountain town is known for its mineral hot springs in which indoor and outdoor heated mineral pools are located along the San Juan River area. It is also close to the Wolf Creek ski area and only a short drive to Mesa Verde National Park. You can hike or bike along the many trails in Pagosa Springs, fish in one of the lakes or rivers or raft or kayak on the San Juan River. The Springs Resort and Spa is a 50-room boutique hotel that has several hot mineral soaking baths and pools--16 for children and families to enjoy and two designated just for adults. This hotel also has a non-mineral swimming pool and freshwater jacuzzi. All guestrooms are smoke-free and heated by a geothermal heating system derived from the hot mineral springs. Pets are welcome in designated rooms for an additional fee. Guestrooms have 27-inch televisions, hair dryers, spa robes and a 24-hour beverage bar with microwave that offers coffee, tea and hot cocoa. Outdoor activities such as river rafting, hiking, fly-fishing and biking are in close proximity to the hotel, along with train rides, biking, wildlife, mining and history tours.

The Holiday Inn Express is a 60-room hotel located off Highway 160 and Piedra Road on Solomon Drive in Pagosa Springs. Each room has a 25-inch television with cable and movie channels, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and ironing board.
