Spanish Tavern

The Spanish Tavern offers generous portions of Spanish-inspired food in a warm atmosphere that features wood accents set off by white linens. Diners at the Spanish Tavern can feast on authentic Spanish cuisine, including its seafood specialties, but there are numerous menu options that include other proteins consisting of only vegetables for those with dietary restrictions. An extensive assortment of wines are available both by the glass and by the bottle and can be expertly paired by the well-trained waitstaff. The restaurant offers a variety of pre-planned dinner packages for parties of 20 or more. These packages include an appetizer, selection of entrees and dessert. The Spanish Tavern is open from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 12 to 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

Casa Vasca

Chef-owner Juan Jose Aurre has operated Casa Vasca restaurant in the Ironbound section of Newark since 1976. The restaurant features authentic flavors from the Basque Country. This region of Spain sits on the border between France and Spain; as such, many of the flavors are fusions of the cuisines from these two countries. The menu features simplistic dishes that are composed with a minimal number of ingredients, allowing the natural flavors or the proteins and vegetables to shine through. The restaurant can accommodate up to 50 individuals and is available to reserve for private parties. An on-site bar offers beers, wines and a variety of cocktails. Meal reservation are accepted and can be made by calling the restaurant. Casa Vasca is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12 to 10 p.m. Sunday.

Fornos Restaurant

Fornos Restaurant offers casual, family-friendly dining in an atmosphere reminiscent of a Spanish taverna. The white stucco building and bold crimson roof tiles transport diners to Spain from the moment they pull up to the restaurant. The restaurant offers a menu that consists of Spanish favorites, including seafood, fish, chicken and beef proteins. A full bar is available, which offers beers, wines and a selection of cocktails. The restaurant allows the smoking of cigars in the lounge area. Dine-in and take-out are available for guests' convenience. An on-site banquet facility is available for booking and can accommodate up to 90 people. Those booking the banquet facility can select from several pre-planned catering menus. Meal reservations can be made by calling the restaurant. Diners can visit Fornos from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 12 to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
