Pittsburgh Steakhouses

Pittsburgh Steakhouses
You can't say that Pittsburgh has a lot of steakhouses, but you won't be disappointed with the choices the city has to offer. Chain steakhouses like Morton's and Ruth's Chris make the list, but some locally owned and operated steakhouses do too. When it comes to steak in the "Steel City," you're sure to find variety, ambiance, and affordability.

Ruth's Chris Steak House

Ruth's Chris is probably the priciest steak you will find in the City of Pittsburgh, but that comes with distinction as well. Ruth's Chris won Pittsburgh Magazine's Reader's Poll Award for "Best Steak" and has placed first, second or third every year since opening. Located in the heart of Pittsburgh, Ruth's Chris offers seafood, chicken and lamb entrees in addition to New Orleans inspired steak varieties. Customers rave about the restaurant's bread pudding dessert and potato varieties served alongside entrees. Ruth's Chris is open seven days a week, with free parking after 4pm.

Morton's Steakhouse

Morton's is another highly ranked steakhouse in the city of Pittsburgh which boasts recognition from Pittsburgh Magazine, Pittsburgh City Paper, and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Morton's prides itself on large portions of porterhouse, filet mignon, and fresh seafood, in addition to a sophisticated wine and martini bar. Although Morton's is a national chain, the restaurant guarantees top-notch service, while providing private dining accommodations for friends, family and company events.

Pittsburgh Rare

Pittsburgh Rare offers a view over the Monongahela River that even Morton's and Ruth's Chris can't match. Overlooking the City of Pittsburgh, while serving up healthy portions of filet mignon, porterhouse steak, fresh lobster, and a tasty portabella mushroom fondue, ensures a daunting combination of food and ambiance. Although Pittsburgh Rare has much to offer, the restaurant tends to have slower service than its steakhouse competitors do. You won't pay the price of a Morton's or a Ruth's Chris, but most likely enjoy your experience just the same.
