Located about 40 miles northwest of Madison, Wis., Baraboo is part of the Wisconsin Dells resort region of south-central Wisconsin. The Ho-Chunk Luxury Hotel and Casino is a premier attraction in Wisconsin. Amenities in the resort include a wellness center featuring updated fitness areas and swimming with your choice of a lap pool, children's wading pool or whirlpool. Four restaurants and two lounges are on the casino floors as well as babysitting services, an indoor playground, a video game arcade, karaoke stage and quiet play zone. Rooms include standard amenities like a hairdryer, microwave, coffeemaker, cable TV, air-conditioning and more. Suites include a private fireplace, whirlpool tub, waterfall shower and foot spa.

Sunset Bay Resort

Located south on Lake Delton's shoreline, this resort is close to both Baraboo and Wisconsin Dells attractions without being too close. In the summer, it has nightly campfires as well as ping-pong, volleyball and horseshoes. The indoor pool has two water slides, and the resort has a whirlpool and spa. In addition to the large pool with a children's wading area, a small beach area is on Lake Delton with a playground. Rooms are basically furnished with TVs, microwave, kitchenettes in most and include high-speed Internet access. Furnishings are perfect for families with kids running in and out from the beach and pool.

Kalahari Resort

The Wisconsin Dells/Baraboo Kalahari Resort is the quintessential resort. This resort is so self-contained you don't have to travel anywhere but to the resort, which has a full-service spa, arcade, indoor water park, first-run movie theater, fitness center and pottery studio. Shopping and organized activities and events also are available. Rooms range from a standard "hut" to a Royal Presidential Suite. All rooms have microwaves, coffeemakers, high-speed Internet access, flat-screen TVs and more.
