For an excellent beach day alternative, the 3,199 acres of Allaire State Park lies about five miles west. Europa South welcomes you to pass a memorable evening dining on Portuguese and Spanish cuisine at its family-owned restaurant in Point Pleasant. A casual setting in a spirited atmosphere, live musical entertainment awaits on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Specializing in seafood, a sample three-course dinner might start with clams Portuguese and gazpacho soup, followed by monkfish Europa or scallops Bordalesa. Europa South serves lunch Tuesday thruough Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Eat dinner Thursday 4 to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 4 to 11 p.m.; Sunday 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Red's Lobster Pot Restaurant

Casual waterside dining on the freshest possible seafood awaits you at Red's Lobster Pot Restaurant. Loyal patrons swear by the specials boards where you might find pan-seared halibut, sauteed weakfish Francaise, grilled yellowfin tuna and, of course, lobster. As with most beachside restaurants, the hours are seasonal. This restaurant is open March through October. It serves an early-bird special that offers 20 percent off it entire menu weekdays from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and includes BYOB and a $1 "environmental discount" per person for riding a bicycle.

Ocean Bay Diner

At Ocean Bay Diner, your homemade dessert will be as carefully prepared as your entrée. The management at this restaurant assures that its menu selections have been prepared from "the finest, freshest produce, choice meats and carefully selected seafood." Don't expect calico fabric napkins and walls swathed with garage sale regalia. This is a real diner with and extensive menu featuring sandwiches, fried foodstuffs and a half-chicken platter. Its business hours change with the seasons, closing on Sundays.
