Café Arugula has served South Orange diners traditional Italian and American cuisine since 1995. The restaurant features a formal dining area with view of the open kitchen, a seafood bar and an ice cream counter. Toro Loco Restaurant

Toro Loco is a family-owned Mexican restaurant that opened in South Orange in 1989. For lunch, diners can munch on an array of soups and seafood dishes like octopus marinated in lemon juice, shrimp cocktail with avocado, black bean soup, clam chowder and shrimp and crab meat marinated in lemon juice. The lunch menu also features Mexican classics like chicken or cheese tacos, burritos and enchiladas, as well as steak, chicken or pork fajitas. The dinner menu has more selection and, on top of items offered on the lunch menu, includes broiled salmon, shell steak, boneless breast of chicken, vegetarian platters, pork chops and chicken or beef taco salads. For diners brining their children, there is a discounted kid's menu which offers simple dishes like chicken fingers and cheese or chicken quesadillas.
