Located in the Tordrillo Mountains about 60 miles west of Anchorage, this remote fly-in lodge sits on pristine, seldom-explored terrain. Up to 12 guests are treated to private baths, satellite wireless access, hot tub, sauna and fine Alaska cuisine when they are not out exploring.

Winterlake Lodge

Located almost 200 miles northwest of Anchorage on Winter Lake, this remote fly-in only lodge offers five guest cabins. Lodge guests can hike in the remote wilderness, including along the historic Iditarod Sled Dog Trail. They can also kayak, fish, view wildlife or swim. At the lodge, guests can take cooking classes, partake in a yoga practice or receive a complimentary massage.

Alyeska Resort

A full-service hotel and ski resort located in Girdwood, 40 miles by road south of Anchorage, the Hotel Alyeska offers 304 guest rooms, AAA four-diamond award-winning restaurant (the Seven Glaciers), 60-person aerial scenic tram, saltwater pool and day spa. The Royal Suite, with 1,275 square feet, features a two-level parlor with panoramic views of Turnagain Arm and the mountains rising from it. In the summer, guests can access hiking trails near the resort. Guests can also view glaciers and wildlife, including bears, and tour the back country.

Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge

When it opened in June 2009, Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge became the first lodge located within Kenai Fjords National Park. Accessible only by boat from nearby Seward, the lodge resides within the 1,700-acre Pedersen Lagoon Wildlife Sanctuary offering guests plenty of wildlife-viewing opportunities, including harbor seals, otters, puffins and more. Guests can also go hiking, sea kayaking and glacier viewing. The lodge features a natural history library, and on-site naturalists teach local natural and cultural history programs.

Favorite Bay Lodge

Located on Admiralty Island in southeast Alaska, Favorite Bay Lodge offers saltwater fishing within minutes of the lodge. Non-anglers can try whale watching in Chatham Straits or wildlife viewing in Tongass National Forest, as well kayaking or crab trapping.
