Italian Restaurants in the Kankakee, Illinois Area

Italian Restaurants in the Kankakee, Illinois Area
Kankakee is the home to one of Illinois' finest state parks for fishing and hiking. But if you're looking for some Italian food at the end of your day at the park, the Kankakee area has that covered, too. Italian restaurants in the Kankakee area are great for families, couples or large groups.

Aurelio's

Just north of Kankakee is the town of Bourbonnais. If you're there in the springtime, you might catch the Chicago Bears training for their upcoming season. But if all you want is some authentic Italian food and the best thin-crust pizza in Illinois, head over to Aurelio's. This is an especially popular choice for families with young children because the pizza is made with a sweet tomato sauce they love. If you want an alternative to pizza, try its calabrese, a type of broccoli.

Dale's

If you're looking for a place in downtown Kankakee that just a couple of blocks away from the river, head over to Dale's on Station Street. A local favorite, Dale's is famous for overloading its pizzas with extra toppings (as long as you ask nicely). It's a family-owned restaurant in operation for more than 40 years, and a delicious option for lunch or dinner breaks.
