The well-developed suburb of East Windsor, New Jersey, is located about 12 miles from the state capital of Trenton and can be reached by taking the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 8. Though the town is not normally a haunt for outdoor enthusiasts, it does provide an accessible base from which to reach some of parks and preserves in northern and southern New Jersey, including Assunpink Wildlife Management Area and Sourland Mountain Preserve.

Quality Inn

The Quality Inn is located about a quarter of a mile from the New Jersey Turnpike. Its 54 rooms include wireless Internet access, ethernet ports, standard telephones (with free local calls), alarm clocks, TV, climate control, mini-refrigerators, desks and clothes irons. The motel serves complimentary breakfast and 24-hour coffee in the lobby (though no restaurant). The front desk also offers wake-up services. Laundry machines are available for guests. Pets are allowed for an extra charge. As of January 2010, a standard room will run about $80 per night.

Hampton Inn

The Hampton Inn offers dark wood tones and accommodations just a touch above the Quality Inn or a standard bare-bones motel. The motel's 80 rooms come with free wireless Internet access, a refrigerator, a microwave, and a coffee maker. Daily breakfast is complimentary, and the premises includes a small indoor pool, an exercise room and laundry facilities. The motel has three floors connected by an elevator. Pets are not permitted. A night's stay, as of January 2010, will cost around $100.

Days Inn

The Days Inn features 100 guest rooms, including three "Executive" rooms with Jacuzzi-style bathtubs. The hotel serves a complimentary breakfast daily and has an outdoor pool (weather permitting), laundry facilities and free wireless Internet service. Guests can also enjoy the convenience of the on-site restaurant, Basil's Legends Bar and Grille. The standard rooms include a clothes iron, a hair dryer, a coffee maker and a work desk. It's the cheapest of the East Windsor bunch; as of January 2010, a night's stay in a standard room goes for $65 to $70.

The Holiday Inn of East Windsor boasts 201 guest rooms, including some "Jacuzzi rooms" and several suites. The motel has a seasonal outdoor pool, a game room, laundry machines, an exercise room with sauna, and JT's Restaurant and Pub (which allows the motel to offer room service). Guests get complimentary continental breakfast and Internet access, and the rooms include a clothes iron, a hair dryer and a work desk--plus windows that open. As of January 2010, rooms go for $85 to $95 per night.
