Motels in Lincoln City, Oregon

Motels in Lincoln City, Oregon
The almost always windy Lincoln City--the self-proclaimed kite capital of the world--is a prime spot to set up home base for Oregon coast adventurers. The city limits are home to several nature-friendly hotels, 7 1/2 miles of sandy beaches and countless forest hikes, like the 3-mile Drift Creek Falls trail, which crosses the longest suspension bridge in Oregon.

Surftides Inn

Founded in 1936 before Lincoln City was easily accessible by road, the Surftides Inn has been opening it's doors to Oregon coast visitors through decades of city growth and renovation. The latest makeover for the Surftides Inn has made it look a little more like a standard chain hotel inside the rooms (with dark wooden furniture, wide desks and flat-screen televisions stuffed in just enough space to move between the beds), but its beachfront access is still very attractive. Surftides is nonsmoking and has pet-friendly rooms for animals 40 pounds or less at $25.00 per night. You can walk right out the door and let the dogs cruise along the wide beach out front, which Surftides lights up every night whether it's foggy and rainy or clear and starry. Additionally, the proprietors at the family-run Surftides have the experience to point you to the best day spots in rain or shine.

Sailor Jack Oceanfront Motel

Sailor Jack's is right in the center of Lincoln City between the quiet and cozy south side and the small-town north. The rooms are decorated like beach cottages, with Oregon coastal flair (some include a gas fireplace and jacuzzi) and all of them face the ocean. Meanwhile, the surf is roughly 40 steps off Sailor Jack's patio, which offers the easiest beach access of Lincoln City's hotels. It is also a cozy place to watch the summer's kite festival or the winter's storms. The hotel also offers a free shuttle to the nearby Chinook Winds Casino near the north side of Devil's Lake. The staff can arrange transportation out to trail heads or nearby sites.

A hundred feet above the ocean on a hillside, the Sea Horse is in the center of Lincoln City's 7 1/2-half mile strip of beach.
