Rochester, Indiana is a small city in the north-central section of the Hoosier state. Home to Lake Manitou, the area offers several areas for enjoying the outdoors. Lake Manitou is a natural, fresh water lake surrounded by parks and nature preserves. Tour the Manitou Islands Wetlands in a canoe to view bird habitats and interesting plant life. Lakeside Park is on the shores of Lake Manitou and is made up of 10 acres of land which include a butterfly garden and access ramp for fishing and boating. If you're craving fast food and desert, the familiar chain restaurant, Dairy Queen, is something to consider when in Rochester. The atmosphere is family-friendly, with food prepared quickly as you order.
