Ephrata is located in central Washington near Grand Coulee Dam, Sun Lakes State Park and the Gorge Amphitheater. Recreational activities include boating, waterskiing, Jet Skiing and fishing at Sun Lakes or Crescent Bar; hiking and touring the Grand Coulee Dam and Steamboat Rock Park; along with golfing, musical festivals and concerts. Soap Lake is another nearby attraction popular for its mud, thought to have healing properties due to the mineral-rich water. The Ivy Chapel Inn is an event facility and also features six themed guest rooms ranging in price from $75 to $95 per night, as of December 2009. Room themes are Blue, Sportsman's, African Safari, Peony, Ivy and Rose Red, and all feature wireless access, a private bathroom, cable television and air-conditioning. Located near the Amtrak station, the Travelodge offers a free "Bear Bites" breakfast, wireless access and an outdoor swimming pool.
