Brown County, Ind., is a popular tourist destination for native Hoosiers and those from out of state as well. The gently rolling hills and vast expanses of forest, along with several small towns, are an ideal location for a romantic and relaxing retreat. There are many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors in Brown County. Visit the Yellowwood State Forest to pan for gold, hunt, ride horses and hike. The T.C. Steele State Historic Site is 211 acres of wooded hills where the namesake artist once resided. Brown County also offers many private cabins for a romantic getaway.

The Sweetheart Cabin

Perfect for a honeymoon or anniversary getaway, the Sweetheart Cabin is a cozy and private retreat. After a day hiking at Brown County State Park, unwind in the hot tub and sauna or sit on the front porch's rocking chairs. A beautiful stream runs through the wooded property, where pets are welcome for an added fee. Two bedrooms are located on either end of the cabin, one with a king-sized bed, the other with a queen. A living room, with satellite TV and VCR/DVD player and a full-sized kitchen, gives you all the comforts of home. A two-night minimum stay is required. Nearby area attractions include the Salt Creek Golf Resort, shops and dining in Nashville, and the Coachlight Theater.

Kick up your heels with your significant other at Mike's Dance Barn, and when the evening is over, return to a nearby romantic retreat, Red Cedar Log Cabin.
