Banff, Canada Lodging

The Fairmont Banff Springs, Naomi Judd

Banff is in the heart of the Canadian Rockies and offers countless lodging possibilities, whether you are passing through on business, vacation or your honeymoon. From deluxe suites to friendly, clean hostels surrounded by peaks, it may in fact be hard to find a place without a nice view.

Banff Lodging Co.

Banff Lodging Co. owns a variety of hotels, restaurants and spas throughout Banff. Their main attractions from most expensive and luxurious to economy are the Fox Hotel and Suites, Banff Caribou Lodge and Spa, Hidden Ridge Resort, Inns of Banff, Banff Ptarmigan Inn, Driftwood Inn, Rundle Manor and Arrow. These lodgings offer prime service, free Internet, outdoor hot pools, indoor pools and saunas. Many of them such as the Inns of Banff have a world class restaurant in the main floor of the building. Banff Lodging Co. offers options from one night, single rooms to extended stay condos and suites, many of which have spectacular views of the Canadian Rockies.

Banff Springs

The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel opened in 1888. Choose to stay here and you will be transported into a luxurious, castle-like setting with impressive views and service. Located across the Bow River from the main part of town, the Banff Springs offers the Stanley Thompson golf course, Willow Stream Spa and equestrian center. It is a popular destination for weddings and offers more than 10 dining outlets. Guest Services at Banff Springs offers baby sitting, bell staff, laundry services, valet parking, ski storage and much more.

Banff Hostel

The HI Banff Alpine Center Hostel offers free Internet access and a local bus transit pass. Compared to many other hostels, this one is more like a grand lodge with a large vaulted-beam construction common room with a fireplace and plenty of common tables. Outside the hostel has a man-made 40-foot-tall ice wall so you can practice your skills with your ice tools before you head out and climb. The hostel also offers private cabins. If you are looking for a more natural, and less expensive way to experience Banff, then this is a good option.

Others

There are many other hotels, lodges and condos available including the Rimrock Resort Hotel, Blue Mountain Lodge Bed and Breakfast, Homestead Inn and The Banff Aspen Lodge. There is also seasonal camping at Two Jack Lake Campground and Tunnel Mountain Village.
