When traveling through Michigan, visitors can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities during the state's four distinct seasons. Whether you are visiting the Great Lakes for swimming and water sports during the summer, hiking through colorful forests in the fall or skiing during the northern Michigan winters, an RV park is sure to be located nearby.

Upper Peninsula

Cedarville is located in Michigan's upper peninsula on Lake Huron near the Les Cheneaux Islands. Visitors to this area can enjoy swimming, boating, fishing and hiking. The Cedarville RV Park has boats and kayaks available for rent and offers fish cleaning service for a small fee. RV sites include water, electric and sewer hook-ups and some waterfront sites are available with boat docks located nearby. Other amenities include bathrooms, showers, laundry facilities, fire rings and picnic tables. The park is open seasonally from May 1 to Oct. 15 each year and pets are welcome at no additional charge.

Northern Michigan

The West Houghton Lake Campground is a 128-site campground located in the center of northern Michigan on the banks of Houghton Lake. The park has full-service RV hook-ups and RVs and campers are available on-site for nightly or weekly rental. The campground covers 33 acres and also has cabins and tent sites available for rent. Amenities include bathrooms, showers, laundry facilities, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, baseball field, wireless Internet access and shuffleboard. The campground is open year-round and visitors can enjoy swimming, boating and hiking and biking on the many local trails during summer months. Winter brings snow to northern Michigan and downhill skiing and tubing can be enjoyed at the Hanson Hills Recreation Area approximately 20 miles away from the campground.

Southern Michigan

The Gateway Park Campground is located in a small rural town in southern Michigan on the banks of South Sand Lake. Back-in and pull-through RV sites are available with full-service hook-ups including cable TV. The park also has cabin rentals and pop-up and tent sites with water and electric hook-ups as well as tent campsites with only electricity. Each site features a picnic table and fire ring. A dump station, bathrooms, showers and a laundry facility are also available on the premises. Other amenities include a game room, heated swimming pool, volleyball court, horseshoe pits, Wi-Fi and a convenience store. The park is surrounded by 135 acres of forest with hiking and bike trails. Guests can rent bicycle and boats from the main office during their stay.
