Leo Carrillo Beach State Park
Just over the canyon from Newbury Park is Leo Carrillo State Beach. Located on the Pacific Coast Highway, Leo Carrillo is a popular destination for surfing, kite boarding and sail boarding. A few minutes from Thousand Oaks and Newbury Park, the state beach and campground can accommodate small to mid-size RVs, with water and sewer hookups available. A shower house and private toilets are on the grounds. There is Wi-Fi, and a small mini-mart that is open between Memorial and Labor Day. Pets are allowed but must be leashed at all times, including on the beach. Reservations are recommended during summer and can be made at reserveamerica.com.

Ventura Ranch KOA
Not far from Newbury Park off Interstate 70 is the Ventura Ranch KOA, which can accommodate all sizes of RVs, including those with slide-outs. Pull-thru and back-ins are on the grounds, and all RV sites have 20-, 30- or 50-amp electric, water, sewer, cable TV and Wi-Fi. Pets are allowed. Good Sam and AAA discounts are available, with certain blackout dates. On-site amenities include a trellised patio, barbecue station and picnic area. There is a quiet park section near the creek for family hikes and walks.

Malibu Beach RV Park
The Malibu Beach RV Park is just over Kanan Canyon from Newbury Park. Located near Paradise Beach, the Malibu Beach RV Park has hookups that include 30- or 50-amp electric, water, sewer, cable TV and Wi-Fi. There is a dump station on the grounds. A guest house, laundry room, showers and private toilets are all on-site. Pets are allowed. Reservations between Memorial Day and Labor Day are highly recommended.
