Danbury is a small town with 32 miles of water from Lake Erie, Sandusky Bay and Harbor. Visiting the area, you will find numerous state parks, including Marblehead Lighthouse State Park, which has the oldest continuously working light on any of the Great Lakes. You can also visit Lakeside Daisy State Park to enjoy nature and the biggest grouping of the rare lakeside daisy. In addition to state parks, Danbury and neighboring communities boasts numerous museums, historic homes, buildings and monuments. If water sport and recreation are your interest, there is ample water and plenty of places to launch your boat. The area has several hotels for your convenience.

The Holiday Inn Express is two miles from Danbury in the neighboring town of Port Clinton and a mile from the African Safari Wildlife Park. You can drive across the Johnson Island Causeway for a tour of the Johnson's Island Confederate Cemetery or head over to Battlefield Park on Bayshore Road for a picnic and look at historic monuments. While in the area, also check out Lake Point Park, also on Bayshore Road. There you can enjoy woods, the lake and a quarry pond.
