Barnelli's is inside Portillo's Restaurant, a well-known, local Chicago-style hot-dog restaurant. The restaurant features a 1950s-1960s theme with wooden tables and red-and-blue checkered tablecloths. There menu features salads, sandwiches and pastas, including spaghetti, mostaccioli and fettuccine with meat or marinara sauce.

Pompei Little Italy

Pompei Little Italy has six locations, including one in Schaumburg . Salads, pastas, pizza and Italian sandwiches are available. One specialty is the "pizza strudel," a hand-rolled pizza dough, braided and stuffed with various sandwich and pizza choices. Another outpost for deep-dish pizza is Lou Malnati's Pizzeria, which has several locations. Malnati's prides itself on the tomato sauce it uses on its pizzas.
