Tumwater, Wash., sits near the southern point of Puget Sound. The Deschutes River runs through the city and can be accessed through several locations, including the 85-acre Tumwater Pioneer Park. This park was acquired by the city in the late 1980s and offers 1.24 miles of unpaved and 0.8 miles of paved trails that loop through the grounds. Several hotels are located within city limits that provide reasonable accommodation and are near several of Tumwater's parks and recreational facilities.

Best Western Tumwater Inn

The Best Western is located a half-mile from both the Tumwater Valley Golf Course and Tumwater Falls and three miles from Percival Landing, a waterfront park and boat launch with a boardwalk and picnic facilities. Hotel amenities at the Best Western include free local calls, microwave and refrigerators in every room, free wireless Internet access, laundry facilities and a fitness center with cardio machines a hot tub and dry sauna. Pets are allowed without weight restrictions but a fee is required. All 90 rooms are smoke-free, and four rooms are available for those with physical challenges.

Guest House Inn and Suites

The Guest House is 10 minutes from Capitol Lake and the Olympic Waterfront, with access to the Capitol Lake Interpretive Center, looped paved and gravel trails, picnicking areas and boat launch. This hotel offers a fitness center, indoor pool and hot tub, business services, complimentary breakfast, free wireless Internet access in all rooms as well as a microwave, mini-fridge and VCRs with a video library available in the library. The hotel is located four miles from the State Capitol building and is easily accessible from the I-5 exchange.

Comfort Inn Conference Center

This hotel is located downtown in proximity to several dining and entertainment venues. It is a five-mile drive from the hotel to Millersylvania State Park; an 842-acre park along the shores of Deep Lake with camping, boating and fishing opportunities as well as eight miles of hiking trails and more than seven miles of biking trails. The Comfort Inn has 58 rooms with free wireless Internet access, microwave and refrigerator and six suites with full kitchens that can accommodate up to six people. Bus and truck parking are welcome. Conference and banquet facilities can accommodate up to 360 people, and pets less than 25 pounds are allowed with a fee.
