Enumclaw, Washington is located about 45 miles southeast of Seattle, near the entrance to Mount Rainier National Park. Mount Rainier is open year-round and features picnic areas, campgrounds, climbing information centers, a museum, and lodging. In addition to visiting Mount Rainier, other recreational options in the area include Crystal Mountain Ski Resort, Northwest Trek, Mud Mountain Dam and Recreation Area, four state parks, and White River Amphitheater.

The Park Center Hotel features 40 rooms on two floors and children under age 18 may stay free with an adult. Pets are allowed with an additional $10 fee per day, as of December 2009. Located 36 miles from downtown Enumclaw, The Alpine Inn offers slope-side access to ski lifts in the winter season and mountain biking or hiking in the summer season. The Alpine Inn has Bavarian-themed rooms with fireplaces, balconies, and wireless access. A full-service deli, the Snorting Elk bar and restaurant, and a ski demo shop are all located downstairs at the Alpine Inn building.
