The Scarborough region in Toronto offers outdoor enthusiasts plenty of options for athletic pursuits. Edwards Gardens is one of the key entry points to the system of ravine parks that winds its way through the city. From there you can hike or run through kilometers of natural trails without ever seeing a car. Rouge Park is Canada's largest urban park, covering more than 47 square kilometers. In the park, you can bike, canoe, swim and fish in the summer, or cross country ski and snowshoe during the winter.

After a day of activity, you can also enjoy one of the region's many restaurants.

Mandalay Restaurant

Mandalay Restaurant has been serving up Southeast Asian fusion for over 20 years. The dining room is intimate with a contemporary Asian vibe. The upscale menu includes fillet of salmon, pan fried with Szechuan sauce and served on a bed of Thai noodles. Or consider a rack of lamb marinated in soya, ginger, garlic and rosemary, served with a goat cheese cream sauce.

Blue Danube

Blue Danube is a casual, family-friendly restaurant that features carefully cooked Canadian and German cuisine, served in a bright, colorful dining room. The menu features many German favorites, including roast pork with red cabbage and bread dumplings. You can select from several schnitzels, including one thick cut "hunter style" portion in a mushroom cream sauce.

Bâton Rouge is an upscale restaurant with cozy velour banguettes and a relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant is known for its southern U.S. flavours, ingredients and hospitality.
