Palm Restaurant
The Palm Restaurant has been a favorite local haunt since its NYC beginnings in 1926. Although the owners wanted to name the restaurant Parma after their distant hometown in Italy, a little trouble with their accents when registering their business license rendered it the Palm forevermore. Originally, the Italian restaurant catered largely to artists and allowed artists to exchange drawings on the walls for a meal. Today, the Palm is known as much for their wall art as for their cuisine. Steaks, seafood, and Italian classics grace the menu but over the years the Palm's jumbo Nova Scotia lobster (weighing in between 3 and 8 lbs.) has received considerable attention from patrons. Open daily at 5 pm, the Palm restaurant remains open until 10 pm Sunday through Thursday and till 11 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
