Located in Halifax County near the North Carolina border, South Boston, Virginia is an area rich with outdoor recreation. Located at the junction of Highways 58 and 360, the Super 8 is in the South Boston business district. This pet-friendly motel features smoking and non-smoking guest rooms with two double beds, one queen-sized or one king-sized bed. Some rooms include a microwave and refrigerator and all units have a clock radio, hairdryer, 24-inch color television and in-room safe.

Amenities include a free Super Start continental breakfast, high speed Internet, free cable TV and HBO and free parking, including spaces for large truckers and motor homes. There are restaurants nearby include Applebees and Golden Corral and guests have access to a nearby fitness center. The county's two state parks, Occoneechee State Park and Stantoa River State Park are both within 20 miles and Buggs Island Lake is within a half-hour drive.

Holiday Inn Express

This three-star hotel is located one mile south of downtown South Boston on Bill Tuck Highway within 25 miles of both state parks and Buggs Island Lake. The two-story property has 66 guest rooms including options with two double beds or one king bed. There are also nine suites that include a king-sized bed and a sofa-bed. There are four handicap accessible rooms.

All rooms feature a coffee maker, microwave oven, refrigerator, cable television, work desk with lamp and in-room wireless Internet access. The hotel also offers a complimentary daily newspaper delivered to your room and a hot breakfast buffet. Suites feature a whirlpool tub and a VCR.
