Fishing for walleye on the Maumee River, cross-country skiing on Oak Openings trails and seeking out spring wildflowers in Toledo's Metroparks can spark an Italian cuisine craving that the city can easily satiate. Although known for its Hungarian-style hot dogs, the Glass City is also home to some endearing Italian eateries.

Zia's Italian Restaurant

A stone water fountain at its entrance and hanging Chianti bottles lend an old-world feel to visitors waiting to order fried ravioli, generous and familiar pasta dishes, and Margherita pizzas. Family-style meals for parties of six or more are also offered, although some also consider it an intimate place to pop the big question.
