Hotel Opera
This 25-room hotel near the rebuilt opera is housed in what was originally a select delicatessen that supplied Bavarian royalty. It features arches, vaulted ceilings and columns punctuated with period furniture, tapestries and paintings to give it an Old World flavor. A quiet courtyard with palms and lemon trees is used for breakfast in warm weather. The Gandl restaurant, which is also a delicatessen and wine store, offers an international cuisine. Located on a quiet side street, the hotel is close to the exclusive shops on Maximilianstrasse as well as the Residenz palace.

Hotel Advokat
This 50-room design hotel was converted from a 1970s office block and appeals to those seeking to avoid ostentation or old-fashioned gimmicks. Opened in 1996 and keeping a sleek retro look, it was one of the first avant-garde hotels in the city. Exhibits of paintings, busts and flower arrangements enliven the hotel and are changed periodically. There is no restaurant, but a sumptuous breakfast is available. There is also a terrace on the roof of the six-story building, which is conveniently located near the Isartor S-Bahn, not far from the Gasteig cultural center.

Hotel Splendid-Dollmann
This 36-room hotel is located in a 19th century townhouse in the Lehel neighborhood near the Isar River. The original Hotel Splendid was nearby and moved into the former Dollmann residence in 2003.
