Less than two hours from downtown Portland, Cannon Beach is a quaint, picturesque beach community on the scenic Oregon Coast. Known for its thriving arts and culture, Cannon Beach offers a wealth of natural beauty including the famous Haystack Rock and tide pools full of life to lush forests and beautiful meadows. McBee Cottages

Two blocks from the beach, the lovely McBee Cottages offer peace and serenity with a homey atmosphere. Surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens, the property offers a barbecue area, fire pit and picnic tables, and is pet friendly for a fee. Built in 1941, all 10 of the attached cottages have been meticulously revamped--providing modern amenities while preserving their original charm. With three different Cape Cod-inspired designs, the cottages are classically furnished with their own fireplace, kitchenette and breakfast nook. A short walk from the town's many galleries, restaurants and boutiques, McBee's is also ideally located near Ecola State Park. The backdrop for a number of scenes from Twilight and the Goonies, the park covers over 1,300 acres, offering dense forests, scenic trails and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean.

Hidden Villa Cottages

Family owned and operated, Hidden Villa is home to the only stand-alone cottages in Cannon Beach. A block from the beach in a quiet neighborhood--each of the property's six vintage 1930s cottages has been completely renovated with its own theme, gas fireplace, fully equipped kitchen and separate family room area. The property also features a lovely courtyard with a tranquil rock pond, a soothing fountain, and tables for lounging and outdoor dining. Head south to Oswald West State Park and wind through dense forests leading to a picturesque view of the coast and a secluded cove--ideal for surfing. Farther down the road, explore Nehalem Bay State Park, where visitors can gallop through the waves, kayak around Nehalem Bay, and bike through the park in the company of elks, coyotes and deer--then sleep under the stars.

Turk's Lodgings

Hidden way up in the trees--with spectacular views of the Oregon Coast--the three unique cottages at Turk's Lodgings offer a relaxing retreat in total seclusion. With stunning ocean views from every room, a large Jacuzzi tub and a beautiful rock fireplace, the renowned House in the Trees is the largest of the units and has been featured in a number of travel magazines. Ideal for two, The Studio is the smallest of the cottages and has its own covered patio with a charcoal grill. Travel two miles south to explore ancient caves, secluded beaches and a beautiful waterfall at Hug Point Recreation Site.
