Café Un Deux Trois
This laid-back French bistro is the perfect spot for a family or big group to grab a quick meal before the theater. While you won't find any big surprises on the menu, the hearty steak and pomme frites, French onion soup or boeuf bourguignon are always safe bets that everyone can enjoy. Café Un Deux Trois also offers a nice prix fixe theater menu for $30 a head that includes a number of soup and salad choices in addition to a selection of solid main courses. Kids will keep themselves entertained with the butcher paper and crayons provided at every table. Reservations are recommended on weekends.

Serendipity 3
This New York institution is famous for its paradoxical yet delicious Frrrozen Hot Chocolate, but there are plenty of other fun options to keep the whole gang satisfied. In addition to standard burger fare, Serendipity 3 offers a dozen different omelettes, lemon sole and country meatloaf served with mashers and gravy. Nonetheless, the real stars here are the desserts. In addition to the aforementioned chocolate concoction, you'll find other goodies like Dark Double Devil Mousse, Big Apple Pie and the over-the-top $1,000 Golden Opulence Sundae that's listed as the Guinness Book of World Record's most expensive dessert. Heavy on the whimsy and kitsch, Serendipity 3 was not surprisingly one of Andy Warhol's favorite places to eat. It's a great place to indulge your inner child and enjoy the sweeter side of life.

The Pink Tea Cup
Southern soul food may not be native to Manhattan, but it has certainly found a home at this ridiculously popular Village eatery. The wait can be rather daunting, especially for weekend brunch, but you'll forgot all about that as soon as you delve into your stack of homemade blueberry flapjacks, catfish and grits or fried chicken with apple fritters. The accommodating staff goes out of their way to satisfy even the pickiest young eaters, and the atmosphere is amazingly friendly despite the huge crowds. To sum it up in the words of Whoopi Goldberg, "Honey, come get some of this food; it's good y'all."
