Arrive on the big island of Hawaii at one of two airports: Hilo or Kona. Hilo is on the rainy, green side of the island, and Kona is on the dry, leeward side. While the airport is often referred to as being in Kona, the main town on the leeward side of the island is also referred to as Kailua Town or Kailua-Kona.
