Wellston, Ohio, which is located in Jackson county, is the home of the 17-acre General Mills food processing plant that is the sole-source producer of Totino's pizzas and pizza rolls, as well as Pillsbury pancakes. It has the official nickname of "Everyone's Hometown Since 1873" and was named a Tree City USA, with residents having planted hundreds of trees since 1989.

Lake Alma State Park is located in Wellston. It offers opportunities to fish, camp, boat, hike and picnic. It also hosts an annual Lake Alma Beach Party.

Wellston is located a half hour from the Ohio River, one hour from Columbus, and three hours from Cleveland. It only has one motel located within the town limits. However, there are two additional motels located in nearby Jackson, Ohio.

Each cabin has a fireplace, cable TV and a hot tub.
