Restaurants in Binghamton, New York
The charming city of Binghamton, situated in New York's beautiful southern tier at the confluence of the Susquehanna and Chenango Rivers, offers excellent kayaking and canoeing opportunities, in addition to the nightlife common to many college towns. Home to Binghamton University, in the winter months plentiful snow provides great skiing conditions at nearby Greek Peak. In-line skaters, bikers and walkers can enjoy a paved path along the Chenango River at Otsiningo Park. When you're looking for a place to grab a bite to eat, try out one of the many local restaurants.

Spiedie and Rib Pit

Binghamton is famous in the food world for a creation called the Spiedie. Otsiningo Park even hosts a yearly spiedie festival in honor of this culinary creation. The Spiedie and Rib Pit restaurant offers the perfect opportunity to try this dish, which consists of either pork or chicken cubes marinated in a special sauce loaded onto an Italian roll. Several variations are available, including the Bleu Cheese Chicken Spiedie, the Greek Style Spiedie and the Buffalo Style Chicken Spiedie. A variety of other items appear on the menu, such as BBQ baby back ribs, hamburgers, submarine sandwiches and hot dogs. Sides include garden salad, macaroni salad, pasta salad, onion rings and coleslaw.
