Albany is the capital of New York State and is located along the Hudson River which is popular with water sports enthusiasts who enjoy kayaking, canoeing and sailing. Visit John Boyd Thacher State Park and hike one of the many trails. Grafton Lake State Park has 25 miles of walking and biking trails as does the Albany Pine Brush Preserve. Downtown Albany is full of trendy shops, museums, art galleries, cafes, pubs, bars and restaurants and is a fun place to wind down after a day on the area's hiking trails. The city also has many hotels offering accommodation suitable for all tastes.

Located in a late 19th-century house, this luxury hotel has been restored to create a completely modern inn with many traditional touches. The Morgan State House Inn is actually separated into two buildings, with the guest rooms located in the main building and the corporate suites in a building further down the block.
