An abundance of hiking trails through the Delaware River Gap and a variety of restaurants await visitors to Warren, New Jersey. "The county offers the largest variety of hikes in New Jersey, including a panorama of magnificent vistas, intriguing history and abundant wildlife," according to the Skylands Visitors Guide. Hike the 1.5 mile Red Dot Trail to the peak or Mt. Tammany, or for a longer hike of 2.5 miles to the same spot, use the Blue Dot Trail. After a day of hiking, enjoy a meal at one of Warren's many restaurants.

Alfie's is a perfect place for large groups; their casually elegant dining area holds 80 guests. A sample three-course menu at this Warren restaurant could start with Prosciutto di Parma con Melone and the Endive al Balsamico salad followed by Raviolini Gratinati or Salmone Principessa. Alfie's Ristorante Italiano serves lunch Monday thru Friday 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Enjoy dinner Monday thru Friday 5 to 10 p.m., Saturday 4 to 10 p.m. and Sunday 4 to 9 p.m.

Silk Road offers the finest authentic Afghan cuisine in Warren. This family-owned restaurant welcomes patrons with good service and a clean dining room. Although you may not recognize the traditional Afghan dishes on the menu, a delicious description follows each one. Try Mantu, or steamed dumplings filled with minced beef, leek onions garnished with cooked lentils & homemade mint flavored yogurt, or sample a shrimp kabob. Five vegetarian entrees are also available. Silk Road is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
