Oxford is where the University of Mississippi is located, but the area is more than a place for college students. There are lakes for fishing or swimming, Wall Doxey and other state parks to see nature up close, numerous parks and trails for walking, jogging or biking. There are plenty of hotels in the area but if you can't find a place to stay in Oxford on Homecoming Weekend or when the town is otherwise overcome with college visitors, try the neighboring town of Batesville.
