Cambria Pines Lodge

A few miles from the beach, stowed away on a hill and 25 acres overlooking the East Village, Cambria Pines Lodge is a blend between a resort with a hint of elegance and a rustic lodge. It features a restaurant offering fresh, homegrown, organic produce; a lounge with nightly entertainment; a heated pool; gardens and conference space; and 152 rooms, suites and cottages. Pamper yourself after a day of exploring with your preference of a variety of massages at the Sojourn Healing Arts day spa. Rates start at about $99, as of 2009. Internet specials can be found as low as $69 for a standard room with double queen beds. Cambria Pines Lodge often offers Romance, Wine Tour and Family packages.The best deals are during the winter months.

Creekside Inn

Creekside Inn, a clean and simple country inn with 14 rooms, proudly claims recognition as Cambria's first Certified Green Hotel and boasts of neighborly hospitality and reasonable rates. It is located in the heart of town and has a laid-back atmosphere. Spend a day exploring the tide pools below San Simeon Cove, just 6 miles north on Highway 1 and you will not feel uncomfortable coming back to the inn with your clothes wet and grimy. Pets are welcome, too, provided you abide by a few rules. Rates start at $59, as of 2009.

Moonstone Landing

Moonstone Landing has breathtaking full-ocean views from its second-story balcony rooms. With rooms that enter from open-air hallways of tiled floors, you can come and go with your sandals covered in sand after a hike on the beach and no one will give you that awkward second glance you might find elsewhere in some swanky, ocean resort. The inn has 29 rooms in Mission-style decor, featuring Travertine marble in the bathrooms. The 10 ocean-front rooms also feature Jacuzzi tubs and spacious glass-enclosed showers. The inn also has a lounge and an outdoor patio with a heated Jacuzzi spa. Rates start at $129, as of 2009. Midweek specials are often available, particularly during the winter months.

Sea Otter Inn

Sea Otter Inn is a quiet and cozy one-level inn with a relaxed atmosphere. All rooms feature fireplaces and some have whirlpool tubs and full ocean views. Ocean-view rooms have all the comforts of home, including a mini-refrigerator, microwave, TV, VCR, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. Comfortable beds make for a restful night's sleep.Continental breakfast is offered each morning; and hot tea and coffee usually are available throughout the day. This inn also offers suites that sleep up to six people. Some suites have private garden patios. There is a heated pool and spa. Children are welcome. Pets are permitted in designated pet rooms only with an additional fee. The inn has a nice policy of storing your luggage for you if you arrive earlier than the 3 p.m. check-in time and your room is not ready. Since check-out is at 11 a.m., they will also safely store your belongings for you if you want to spend a little more time in this friendly coastal town on your departure day. Rates start at about $169, as of 2009. Call or just show up (if you are not afraid to wing it) to find incredibly reasonable mid-week specials during the winter months.

Blue Dolphin Inn

The Blue Dolphin Inn features newly decorated elegant rooms, each with its own unique ocean-retreat theme, offers amazing views of Moonstone Beach. The boardwalk is just steps away where you can enjoy a relaxing early morning walk or sit on one of the benches along the way and, at the right time of year, watch migrating whales.
