Restaurants in Dallas, Georgia
Dallas, Georgia was founded in 1852 and is the county seat for Paulding County. Dallas has three trailheads on portions of the Silver Comet Trail (an old railway line, converted to a cycling and walking trail). With over 61 miles to cycle or walk on, you're sure to build up an appetite. Fortunately, if you are looking for some great places to eat, Dallas has several excellent dining places from which to choose.

Hickory Hut

Ignore the "hole-in-the-wall" exterior and come inside to discover the delectable secret local residents have known for over 20 years. BBQ pork sandwiches, ribs and french fries are the favored specialties in this ultra-casual atmosphere. Tables are provided with paper towels instead of napkins and seating can be limited, so be sure to arrive early for lunch if you want to avoid a wait. No beer or wine, but sweet tea arrives in large take-out cups that the staff will happily refill for you before you leave.

House of China II

Established in the late 1980's, House of China, was the first Chinese restaurant in Paulding County and remains one of the most popular. Family-friendly (feel free to bring in a hamburger from the Golden Arches for the little one), with a relaxed atmosphere, House of China offers generous food portions large enough for sharing. Try the House Won Ton soup for starters, then pick out your favorite dish for a meal you are sure to enjoy. No alcohol, but servers are quick to fill refill drinks and are happy to accommodate special food requests.

La Cocina Mexican Restaurant

Close proximity to the Dallas Silver Comet Trailhead (make sure to cross at the walkways since you will be traveling over a four-lane) make this Mexican restaurant a great stopping place for lunch or dinner after enjoying the trail's beautiful rural scenery. Fast service and a friendly waitstaff starts your dining experience off right. Enjoy the casual atmosphere inside or take in the sunshine out on the patio (not open in the winter), while you reflect on your day. Imported beer and mixed drinks are available. Make sure to save room to share one of the mouth-watering deserts.
