Nashua is the second largest city in the state of New Hampshire. Though its size and infrastructure are largely urbanized, it does have a variety of outdoor parks and recreational activities at your disposal. It is also located near some of Merrimack County's nicest hiking trails and nature preserves. For those working up an appetite, Nashua offers several causal, home style restaurants offering hearty Italian cuisine, all with reasonable prices. Each restaurant has enough variety that you are almost sure to find something enjoyable to fill your belly with and leave satisfied.

Liu Liu

The owners of Liu Liu created a place where people could eat great Italian food "and have fun doing it." Reservations are allowed for parties greater than 10 people and for smaller parties, call ahead seating is available. The atmosphere they have created is laid back, casual and fun and menu prices are quite reasonable ranging from $5 to $21.50 with lunch and dinner specials, some under $10. The fare is traditional Italian and a nice variety of soups and salads for vegetarian diners. It is just 10 minutes from Nashua's Mine Falls Park, for hiking and outdoor activities.

Pizzico Italian Restaurant

Pizzico Italian Restaurant is a family style Italian restaurant offering lunch and dinner menus with a full, in-house martini bar. Their menu includes traditional Italian dishes and sandwiches, specialty pizzas and a kids menu. Prices are very reasonable ranging from $8.99 to $14.99 for pasta entrees and $9.99 to $18.99 for their specialty pizzas. Their dessert menu includes Italian dessert coffees, gelato, and sorbetti. Pizzico's has an extensive wine list for enthusiasts and is only 10 minutes away from Mine Falls Park.

Villa Banca

Villa Banca is another traditional Italian restaurant specializing in homemade meatballs and marina sauce. The restaurant is housed in a renovated bank building and offers a casual atmosphere with an outdoor seating area, weather permitting. It has a full martini bar, expansive dessert menu featuring Italian favorites such as homemade canolis. The menu prices for lunch and dinner range from $4.99 to $26.99 for seafood dishes. They offer a wide variety of soups and salads for smaller appetites. It is 15 minutes from the Horse Hill Nature Preserve in Merrimack, which is open year round for hiking, fishing and other outdoor activities.
