Minneapolis is known as the City of Lakes. The Chain of Lakes is comprised of a number of parks along connecting lakes where you can bike or walk. You can also go hiking or skiing in Fort Snelling State Park, play golf in any of the seven public golf courses, and mountain bike in off-road trails in Theodore Wirth Park. Minneapolis is also a city with many restaurants that serve breakfast to start your day off right.

Betty Jeans Chicken N Waffles

Betty Jean's Chicken N Waffles is open late to accommodate those who have had a late night. As the name of the restaurant indicates, the classic combination of chicken and waffles is served as well as a variety of home-style soul food. For breakfast, you can order Chicago-style hot links, half chicken with the choice of two sides or smothered pork chops with eggs and a waffle. A breakfast menu is available with different specialties every day of the week. Operating hours are on Tuesday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., on Friday and Saturday until 2 a.m. and on Sunday until 7 p.m.

Victor's 1959 Cafe

Victor's 1959 Café serves Cuban food and is open for dine-in or take-out. You can order from numerous items on the breakfast menu including mango, corn or banana pancakes, mango waffle, cuban-style toast and café con leche, arroz a la cubana, yuca and eggs, eggs Havana, and ranchero cubano. You can have your breakfast with coffee or juice, but beer and wine are also served during breakfast. Breakfast and lunch are served daily at Victor's 1959 Café from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Elsie's Restaurant

Elsie's Restaurant is open every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Elsie's Signature Breakfast dishes include a sausage or potato wrap, bacon or Cajun style skillet, hamburger patty and eggs, country hash, biscuits and gravy, country-fried steak, and eggs Benedict. You can also order other food from the breakfast menu, including different kinds of omelets, egg specials and pancakes and waffles. An a la carte menu is also available which includes, eggs, toast and jam, fresh fruits, English muffin and jelly, and bagel with cream cheese. Beverages that you can order during breakfast include ice-cold milk, hot chocolate, different kinds of juice, hot and iced tea, and bottomless hot coffee. Breakfast served on Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
