Ocean City, MD Resorts

Ocean City, MD Resorts
Ocean City is a popular and well-known beach destination of about 9,000 inhabitants on the southeastern tip of Maryland. Besides its 10 miles of pristine and cost-free beach, Ocean City has several sport and outdoor facilities such as the Ocean Bowl Skate Park and Northside Park. Casual and sport-fishers come to "OC" in early August for the annual white marlin open--the world's biggest billfish tournament. The ocean and bayside offer plenty of chances for boating, canoeing and kayaking. Ocean City is considered to be one of the East Coast's best parasailing destinations, plus two stretches of oceanside beach are reserved for surfers every day. Nearby Assateague is famous for its wild ponies, and dolphins and whales can often be seen a short distance offshore. Bikers and hikers will appreciate the Delmarva Peninsula and Pocomoke River State Forest with their dozens of trails.
