Not all steaks in Philadelphia are necessarily served on a hoagie roll with cheese. There are several steakhouses in the City of Brotherly Love that offer delectable dishes and long wine lists to make for a memorable dining experience.

Morton's the Steakhouse

Morton's is a well-known name among steakhouse connoisseurs. The restaurant offers a $25 prime lunch that includes a cup of soup or salad, entrée and dessert. The regular lunch menu also features entrée salads, sandwiches and a large selection of steaks. The dinner menu includes appetizers such as tuna tartar and Maine lobster cocktail, entrées like porterhouse steak and filet mignon, desserts such as double chocolate mousse and crème brulee, and side dishes. Morton's boasts a large, international wine list that will complement any of its steak entrées.

Smith & Wollensky

Smith & Wollensky steakhouses can be found in many major cities around the nation, with each city featuring its own unique menu. In Philadelphia, the lunch menu includes flatbreads, starters, entrée salads, grilled fish, burgers, sandwiches and steak dishes from the grill served with side dishes. The dinner menu has a large selection of starters and salads, as well as its famous shellfish bouquets and international lobster selection. The menu highlights are the Smith & Wollensky classics such as the New York strip, veal chop rib-eye and the five filet mignon dishes. The restaurant also has a special bar menu. Smith & Wollensky makes its own wine on a Napa Valley reserve.

Ruth's Chris Steak House

Ruth's Chris is a famous steakhouse in the United States, and its Philadelphia restaurant claims to have the best prime steak in town. The abbreviated lunch menu consists of appetizer, salad and entrée choices. For dinner, patrons can choose from nine appetizer choices, including veal ravioli and seared ahi tuna. Salad, potato and vegetable choices accompany seven steak varieties that range from the petite filet to a cowboy rib-eye and the classic T-bone. Entrées feature dishes with lamb, lobster, shrimp, chicken and more. Eight dessert options, including cheesecake and warm apple crumb tart, round out the Ruth's Chris menu. Naturally, meals can be paired with the appropriate red, white or sparkling wine; the restaurant also has a robust cocktail menu.
