Crown Candy Kitchen
St. Louis' Crown Candy Kitchen is famous for its sundaes, milkshakes and malts. But what many people don't realize is that this top-notch sweets eatery also serves a menu of non-dessert food for lunch and dinner. The menu includes standard American food like chicken salad, Reuben sandwiches, grilled cheese, hot dogs, roast beef and fish fillets. Of course, if you are attempting to try the restaurant's shake challenge, in which you drink five milkshakes of your choosing and get them all free, you probably shouldn't fill up on food beforehand.
All of Crown Candy Kitchen's malts, shakes and sundaes come with homemade ice cream in a variety of flavors, including black cherry, fresh strawberry, black walnut, Oreo coffee and chocolate chip raspberry. And not all of the desserts need be unhealthy; aside from the standard swiss chocolate sundae and hot fudge sundae, there is the fruit salad sundae and the club house nut sundae, which comes with nuts, pineapples and strawberries.
