Located in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego is the award-winning restaurant Masala Spices of India. It has a modern elegance, diffused lighting and offers an exotic cuisine. Sip a cocktail from the bar before being seated. Savor chicken korma with a creamy saffron curry blended with almonds, raisins and coconut or mahi mahi cooked with ginger, mushrooms and tamarind in onion gravy. Take delight in vegetarian meatballs simmered in a rich creamy sauce with raisins and almonds and other vegetarian entrees.

Reservations are recommended, and you can make them online or by phone. Masala is open for lunch Monday through Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with dinner Monday through Sunday 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Royal India

Royal India is awe-inspiring with its majestic arches, gold columns and crystal chandeliers imported from the palaces of India. Revel in a regal dining experience that features authentic North Indian foods, fresh baked breads and homemade desserts. Savor fresh mahi mahi marinated in yoghurt, spices and garlic in a ginger sauce, or sample the Mixed Tandori Grill. Curries and Royal Curries are a vegetarian favorite. Patrons can either relax in intimate indoor seating or spacious outdoor patio seating.

Tantalize taste buds with a daily lunch buffet from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., or stop in for a champagne brunch Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Dinner is available from 5:00 p.m. to midnight. You can make reservations online or by phone.
