Restaurants in Sun City, California
Sun City, California and the communities surrounding it are known for their retirement appeal. So it should come to no surprise that the restaurants there are filled with original recipes, home cooking and a slice of nostalgia. On October 1, 2008, Sun City incorporated into the city of Menifee. So if you have had a tough time finding restaurants there, never fear. All of your favorites are still there. The city may be called Menifee now, but that home cooking has not gone anywhere.

Giovanni's

This restaurant is family-owned and proud of it. The Powers family is involved, from top to bottom, in their establishment. The daughters wait tables and every Thursday and Saturday night the owner, Tom Powers, sings for the customers enjoyment. A lot of love goes into the food at Giovanni's. They have a wide variety of fare, including everything from Chicken Parmigiana to Barbecue Pork Ribs. Try one of their specialty pizzas or create your own. You won't leave hungry.

Ponderosa Bar and Grill

The Ponderosa Bar and Grill is reminiscent of an old west honky tonk. There, you can have great food, shoot some pool, drink and dance all in the same place. The bar and grill features live music on Fridays and Saturdays, karaoke Sundays and Thursdays and sports events whenever they are on television. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. At breakfast, diners can enjoy home-style classics like their Country Breakfast or spice up their morning with a Wet Chili Verde Burrito. The lunch and dinner menus are one in the same. Friday and Saturday nights, you can enjoy their tender and juicy Prime Rib. The rest of the menu contains typical bar fare, hand-held appetizers, burgers, sandwiches and tacos.
