David's 388 Restaurant

David's 388 Restaurant, which serves a mixture of American, Italian and French cuisine, is a fixture in South Portland Maine, as half of its menu is always changing week from week. Of course there are a handful of set dishes that never change, so diners can enjoy them time and time again. Theses include Main Lobster with sea scallops and shrimp papparadella, ginger and scallion crusted salmon with wasabi mashed potatoes, tuna tartar with coconut-chili truffle, and mushroom ravioli with wilted arugula. For desert there is a selection of homemade ice cream as well as crème brulee and chocolate cake. For those who love a fine wine at meal time, David's 388 restaurants has a respectable selection of sparkling, white and red wines.

Joe's Boathouse Restaurant

Located in SouthPortland's Port Harbor Marina, Joe's Boathouse Restaurant offers diners American and seafood cuisine. For lunch, visitors can help themselves to such dishes as grilled crab and avocado club, lemon curry sea scallops, risotto with tomato and spinach, pesto chicken, and crispy salmon salad. For dinner, there are larger dishes that include garlic shrimp steak, filet mignon, thai curry scallops, pepper seared tuna steak, lobster fettuccine, barbecue pork ribs and fish and chips. Joe's Boathouse Restaurant is open seven days a week from eleven in the morning to nine at night. On Sundays, there is a six-hour brunch buffet starting at 9am.

The Saltwater Grille

The Saltwater Grille is one of South Portland's upscale seafood restaurants that serves an array of fresh fish, shrimp scallops and lobster. Some of the dishes that diners can order include a Lobster Saute, fresh Maine seafood cakes, calamari salad, scallops carbonara, and steamed Maine lobster. Even those who aren't big fans of seafood can enjoy The Saltwater Grille, as they offer a variety of non-seafood items. These include chipotle pork taco, smoke turkey panini, black pastrami Reuben, backed ziti with vodka sauce and roasted red pepper caesar salad. The Saltwater Grille has two function rooms upstairs with overlook the waterfront, and are available for private parties. Diners can enjoy the food here seven days a week, from eleven in the morning to ten at night.
