A neighborhood of Brooklyn, Park Slope is a popular destination for families and young professionals who enjoy the amenities of a nearby city, while being situated in a smaller community. The area is concentrated with small businesses and the opportunity to enjoy numerous recreational activities at the nearby Prospect Park such as ice skating, hiking, walking, run, and exploring. While enjoying a day outside guests and residents are sure to enjoy some food at one of Park Slope's numerous eateries, including offerings of traditional Caribbean fare and drink.

Sugarcane

Featuring Caribbean cuisine, Sugarcane located in Park Slope infuses traditional Latin flavors with a Western twist. The seasonal lunch and dinner menu features starters such as jerk chicken, shrimp dishes and pineapple, in addition to the entrees, which include rasta pasta (mixture of vegetables with coconut) spare ribs, oxtails, shrimp, steak, fried chicken, or salmon. All entrees are prepared with traditional Caribbean spices and herbs and come with two sides\such as fried plantains, peas and rice, coconut rice, or sautéed cabbage. Sugarcane is also renowned for their signature cocktails, which include various types of mojoitos, coladas, and daiquiris, rum punch, sangria, beer, wine, and much more.

Kombit Creole

A sophisticated restaurant, Kombit Creole specializes in Caribbean fare from Haiti. The menu features appetizers such as akra (vegetables with coconut), coconut shrimp, and pumpkin soup, salads, and entrees such as gumbo fish, larabi ( conch fish simmered in Caribbean spices), and the poisson gwo sel (red snapper with onions and herbs). Additional entrees on the dinner menu include: griot (pork fried meat), legume beef (vegetables with beef), and the poule en sauce (chicken in herb sauce), to name a few options. There are also sides to sample smaller portions of Caribbean fare at Kombit, such as green plantains, rice and beans, and black rice, which is only served on Sundays. Additionally, the restaurant hosts numerous events such as a happy hour from 3:30-7pm from Tuesday-Friday, live music featuring jazz, R& B, and soul on Friday evenings, and a comedy night on Wednesday.

Bogota Latin Bistro

Featuring comfort and traditional food from Central America and the Caribbean, Bogota Latin Bistro has been servicing the Park Slope and Brooklyn community since 2005. The restaurant is open for brunch and lunch, whose selections include: various empanadas, arepas (cornmeal cakes), chips, sandwiches, salads and Bogota specialty dishes such as arroz pollo con (chicken with rice). The main also features main dishes such as beef, chicken, and pork dishes served with two sides as well as fish tacos, garlic shrimp, salmon, and catfish. Bogota also has numerous specialty drinks on the menu, including various types of coladas, mojitos, margaritas, and sangria, in addition to wine and beer options.
