The Venice, Italy, area is full of adventures for outdoor enthusiasts. There are beaches, lakes and rivers to be explored, with many water sports available. The city also has a lot of parks and open plazas along with all of the museums and historical buildings that are best explored on foot to capture the essence of the city.

Holiday Inn Marghera

Part of the InterContinental Hotels Group, the Holiday Inn Venice Mestre-Marghera is just 3 km from Venice Mestre rail station and 15 km from Marco Polo airport in Venice. Guests can reach the hotel by car or by walking a short distance from public transportation, and it is easy to reach from the rail station or the airport. This Holiday Inn features a fitness center, shuttle to and from downtown areas, breakfast and a cozy Venetian and Italian restaurant, "All Bell'Italia," which also stays open late for cocktails. The rooms have flat screen TVs and satellite channels, and wifi is available for a nominal fee. There are also meeting rooms available for as many as 170 people, and the doorkeeper and attended parking also help make stays convenient. Small pets are allowed; guide dogs of all sizes are permitted. In 2009, an Internet rate of $69 EUR, $98 USD is advertised.

The Crowne Plaza Padova (Padua) is a four-star hotel just 3 km from the train station and city center. It's also about half an hour from Marco Polo airport in Venice and near the A4 Milan-Venice motorway. Crowne Plaza Venice East Hotel was opened in 2004. The hotel has a large and inviting bar area and restaurant, with a good breakfast buffet served each morning. The rooms are all large, and executive rooms and a few suites are available in the hotel. Each room has high speed Internet, music and video on demand, pc and laptop connection ports and a lot of work space. There are also bicycles available for guest use and free entry to the casino for guests. Private garages, airport transportation, babysitting services, business and meeting center and a fitness center and sauna all are provided for guests.
