Famous for lending its name to the 1969 music festival, this small New York town is a colony for the arts and a haven for hiking enthusiasts. Woodstock is at the base of Overlook Mountain and within Catskill Park, a forest preserve of 700,000 acres where you can explore trails. It's also near Esopus River where you can fish, white-water raft and tube. You can ski at Bellayre Mountain, Hunter Mountain and Ski Windham. There are several hotels and other properties in the area.

Twin Gables

The property has four furnished rooms with antique furniture, cable television and private baths. Each room has its own porch or deck, two of which have private entrances and one of which has a sunroom and kitchenette. Just 11 miles from Hunter Mountain Ski Bowl, guests can enjoy winter sports at the resort. Phoenicia Black Bear Campground, which is just 7 miles away, is an ideal place to go fishing, tubing, kayaking, hiking, skiing, bird watching and swimming.
