Wolfeboro, N.H., features several parks and outdoor activities all year. In the winter, the Abenaki Ski Area has five trails, a terrain park, glade and night skiing, and a rope tow. Beaches such as Albee, Brewster and Carry offer swimming and areas for picnics. If you want to walk, run or bike, consider Bridge Falls Path, a half-mile trail that joins a network of other trails. When you are visiting with your pets, there are a few places nearby where they can stay with you.

Spruce Moose Lodge & Cottages

There are several types of lodging guests can choose here. All rooms have free toiletries and lotions, individual air-conditioning units, sitting chair and private bathroom; some rooms include a full breakfast. The entire facility is nonsmoking. The Spruce Moose Lodge features a great room where guests are invited to sit and relax; it has two wings. The cottages are recommended for those who want privacy, and they come with a full kitchen. The Jacuzzi bungalows offer TV and telephone, as well as a small refrigerator and gas fireplace. The Spruce Moose House is a fully equipped house, while The Little House is a three-bedroom, one-bath house. Dogs are allowed in select rooms for a fee of $10 per night.

Glynn House Inn

Rooms here include iPod radio, LCD television, DVD player, wireless Internet service, bathrobes, Afghan blankets and queen-sized beds; some rooms also include a fireplace, sofa bed and whirlpool tub. The inn offers a full breakfast, afternoon refreshments, and wine and hors d'ouvres in the evening. Innkeepers can arrange for the rentals of canoes, kayaks, sailboats and ski equipment, and bike rentals are available nearby. Up to two dogs are allowed to stay in select rooms; there is a $25 nonrefundable one-time fee and a $10 fee for a second pet. Upon arrival, dogs are given pet treats, a toy and cleanup bag, and guests will find a floor mat, canine beds and bowls for water and food in their room.

Coppertoppe Inn & Retreat Center

Guests will find a view of Newfound Lake in their room, as well as marble bathrooms, artwork, reading chairs, desk and Internet service. A full breakfast is included in the cost of the room, and snacks are available throughout the day. A library with books, videos, games and music is open for all guests, and there is exercise equipment and yoga and tai chi space. The Paradise Point Audubon center and George Road are a hike away. Dogs are welcome to stay and are provided with dishes, dog beds, treats and toys, and separate towels are available for dogs who want to go in the inn's pond; there is a cleaning charge of $25 per animal.
